Description
Kraul Weather Glass Kit – Kids STEM Science
The Kraul Weather Glass is based on the water barometer, an early invention to predict changes in the weather. Featuring a glass tube partially filled with a blue liquid, an internal glass spout and a black wooden display stand.
As atmospheric pressure increases, the blue liquid is forced up the spout, providing a visual indication of weather changes. Rubber bands can be used to mark the level changes daily, however, this is a visual guide only and doesn’t provide quantitative measurements.
This meteorological instrument detects pressure changes, with a decrease in pressure predicting stormy weather, while high pressure is usually fair and dry. Weather predictions will spark curiosity and support STEM learning and through observation, questioning, and discovery.
Ideal for home learning, classroom science, or quiet observation, the Kraul Weather Glass is best suited for children aged 14 and over. The Kraul Weather Glass carries the Spiel Gut mark, a respected German recognition for toys that are well designed, educational and fun.
Made in Germany by Kraul, this weather glass is part of a range of thoughtful science toys and instruments that bring natural forces to life through real-world exploration and play.
