Becoming popular in the 17th-century snuff making came to Sharrow around 1740 when Thomas Wilson started his snuff mill.
Today little has changed in production methods and Sharrow snuff is still very popular and enjoyed by many people.
Kendal Brown snuff by Wilsons & Co has a coarse grind, is dark brown in color with a high nicotine hit.A blend of dark fired and Burley leaves for the base with lemon and bergamot as a top dressing.
