The brainchild of Rick Rodriguez the former master blender at CAO cigars.
West Tampa Tobacco Co. started in March 2022 with a regular production cigar known as the Black line.
Made at the Garmendia Cigars Co. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua the blend uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, but from a higher priming to give it a darker colour and stronger flavour.
The binder used is Nicaraguan from the volcanic island of Ometepe—while the fillers come from Nicaragua’s Condega and Estelí regions.
The flavour profile is medium to full with notes of oak and coffee, a little earthines from the Ometepe leaf and some pepper.
The last third is where the profile changes, hang on to your hat folks, the cigar becomes stronger in flavour which some may like (or not).
