The Patagonia Men’s Classic Retro-X Fleece Vest is a warm, windproof fleece gilet designed for cold-weather layering and everyday outdoor wear. Worn as a bodywarmer over knitwear or under a shell, it delivers reliable insulation without restricting movement, making it a practical choice for walking, travel, and casual outdoor clothing. The main fleece is made from 100% Repreve® recycled polyester, certified by OceanCycle and sourced from coastal communities at risk of plastic pollution.

The ¼-pile fleece is soft and insulating while also blocking wind, thanks to a fully lined construction. Inside, a recycled polyester taffeta lining with a durable water repellent finish made without added PFAS helps stop cold gusts cutting through, keeping warmth close to the body. Finished in Dark Natural, the fleece comes in a natural cream shade, contrasted with dark blue elastic binding and orange zip pulls and lining, giving the vest a distinctive retro look rooted in Patagonia’s heritage.

This fleece gilet features a full-length front zip with an internal wind flap to seal out draughts, alongside a fleece-lined stand-up collar for added warmth around the neck. The outer collar and trim are reinforced with NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon made from recycled fishing nets. Storage is secure and functional, with a zippered chest pocket built from NetPlus® fabric and two zippered handwarmer pockets lined with soft recycled polyester tricot. Finished binding at the collar, centre-front zip, armholes, and hem provides a clean, durable finish, while the relaxed silhouette allows for easy layering.
