This Patagonia backpack may be sized down, but the range of technical features definitely isn’t. In Current Blue, this kid’s school backpack is dark blue with lighter blue webbing and zip contrasts. Made from 100% recycled polyester fabric, this rucksack features a durable water-repellent finish that’s made without PFCs (perfluorinated chemicals). It features a zip-opening top with a grab handle (perfect for quickly getting out the door in the mornings or navigating busy school corridors) and two oversized mesh side pockets to store water bottles and other bulky essentials.

There are two compression straps on the front designed to strap down a jacket or jumper and cushioned back panels, padded shoulder straps, with a sternum strap that prevents the pack from slipping off narrower shoulders. There’s an internal zip pocket in the lid to keep small items safe inside, and a padded internal sleeve, perfectly sized to carry laptops up to 15” or a hydration reservoir.
