The Gripz range uses Inch Blue’s thin, flexible rubber sole – perfect for confident first walkers and toddlers who need a little extra protection and grip as they start to explore beyond the living room. It keeps the hallmarks of a true barefoot shoe; a roomy, foot-shaped fit, zero heel rise and an ultra flexible sole that bends with every step, helping muscles, balance and coordination to develop naturally.

The Gripz sole was created after years of feedback from parents who loved Inch Blue’s original suede soft soles but wanted a slightly tougher option once children started venturing outdoors. The company tested many rubber compounds before launching Gripz in 2018, soft and pliable but with added durability and slip resistance for playgrounds, garden paths and nursery runs.

Each pair is hand cut and stitched in Inch Blue’s Welsh workshop from premium chrome-free leather that is breathable and gentle on delicate skin. A superhero emblem is embroidered onto the smooth, bright red surface of each shoe. Elasticated ankles mean the shoes stay put on chubby feet but never restrict movement. All materials are tested to be free from harmful chemicals and are safe if chewed or mouthed.
