Grapat Wooden Weaving Frame

The Grapat Weaving Frame is a creative toy for children made up of 4 wooden dowels with notches along their length to create a square frame, and hemp string to make your warp and weft for weaving.

This versatile weaving loom frame is a fun way to encourage creativity and a lovely way to display favourite finds from nature. A natural weaving frame can be used with a variety of materials to weave with; string, ribbons, natural fibres, wool and added finds such as buttons, beads, dried flowers or grasses, leaves, twigs and other natural treasures. Create woven tapestries to display on the wall or on your nature table to celebrate the seasons. Weaving is a lovely mindful activity for children and adults, and great for developing fine motor skills and inspiring creativity. Weaving is a therapeutic craft that can be picked up easily, keeps little hands busy, and creates beautiful art pieces. A weaving frame is a popular resource in Waldorf educational settings and homes, a classic, timeless wooden toy.

The Grapat Weaving Frame is simple to assemble using the notches in the corners of the dowl and secured with the hemp string. Packaged in a beautifully decorated cardboard box for storage.

Suitable for 3+ years. Grapat toys are handmade using natural wood and water based stain. Colours and wood grains vary as does life itself. Over time wood can wear with play.
