Ostheimer Blue King’s Page | Three Wise Men Wooden Nativity Figure

A handmade wooden toy figure from Ostheimer’s Nativity Collection, the Blue King’s Page is inspired by the tradition of Star Singers, also known as Epiphany Singers. In many European countries, children dress as the Three Wise Men and walk from house to house carrying a star during the Epiphany season, marking the journey of the Magi.

With simple features and gentle proportions, the Blue King’s Page can be used as a Star Singer, a child performing in a Nativity play, or a stand-in for the Wise Men within a Nativity scene. Like all Ostheimer figures, its role is intentionally open, allowing children to decide who it is and how it belongs within their play.

Ostheimer figures are inspired by Waldorf education, which values simple, open ended toys made from natural materials. The minimal facial details and softened forms encourage imaginative play, allowing children to project their own stories and emotions onto the figure rather than being directed by it. This approach supports creativity, emotional expression, and calm, focused play.

Hand made from solid maple wood, the Blue King’s Page is hand painted with natural, non toxic water based paints that allow the wood grain to remain visible. The figure has white skin and blond hair, and wears a white robe with a blue cloak and matching blue hat. Made using responsibly sourced European hardwoods and finished by hand in Germany, each Ostheimer figure has a smooth, warm, tactile feel and is slightly unique, reflecting the care and skill involved in its creation.
